Nearly 90,000 fully AI-generated tracks reach Deezer every day. On peak days, that’s more than half of everything delivered to the platform.

Now Deezer is giving you a way to switch them off. On October 13, 2026, it announced an on/off toggle that removes fully AI-generated tracks, albums and the artists behind them from your search results. It rolls out to every Deezer market before the end of 2026.

Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier tied the feature straight to what listeners asked for.

We've seen a clear user demand for the ability to filter out AI-generated music, and we are now giving everyone the option to remove this content completely from their streaming experience on Deezer.

How Deezer’s AI music toggle works, and what it leaves alone

Deezer already does 2 things with fully AI-generated music. Its AI music detector tags it on the album page (14 million albums since June 2025), and the tagged tracks never show up in algorithmic or editorial recommendations.

What Deezer didn’t do until now is touch search. So if you typed a song title, an AI track could still sit right next to the human one. The toggle fixes that, and you can turn it off again whenever you want.

One caveat matters if you make music yourself. The toggle targets fully AI-generated tracks, the kind made entirely on platforms like Suno and Udio.

Deezer says music with “limited AI-assisted elements as part of a broader human creative process is treated differently.” So a song you wrote and recorded, with an AI tool somewhere in the chain, isn’t what this setting is built to hide.

Why Deezer is adding an AI music filter to search now

The volume is the first reason. In July, AI music passed 50% of Deezer’s daily uploads, and Deezer started deleting fraud tracks and AI uploads nobody streams.

Fraud is the second. Deezer says it built its detection to cut AI-related streaming fraud, the same scheme that just got Michael Smith 18 months in prison for $8 million in royalties from AI songs and bot streams.

And listeners asked for it. In a Deezer and Ipsos survey of 9,000 people in 8 countries, 45% of streaming users said they’d like to filter out fully AI-generated music, and 97% couldn’t tell an AI song from a human one in a blind test.

Spotify went a different way. Its AI Persona badge flags AI artist identities and keeps them out of recommendations by default, but the music stays searchable and Spotify offers no filter to hide it.

The toggle lands before the end of 2026. Until then, Deezer’s free playlist scanner already shows you how much fully AI-generated music sits in the playlists you stream elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

What does Deezer's AI music toggle do?

The toggle is a setting that removes fully AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists from Deezer's search results. Deezer already keeps that music out of its algorithmic and editorial recommendations, so with the toggle on, it disappears from search as well.

When will Deezer's AI music toggle be available?

Deezer says the toggle will roll out globally before the end of 2026. It announced the feature on October 13, 2026, without giving an exact launch date.

Does Deezer's AI music toggle hide songs that only used AI tools in production?

No. Deezer says the toggle is designed for fully AI-generated music, made entirely on generative platforms such as Suno and Udio. Music with limited AI-assisted elements inside a broader human creative process is treated differently.

How many AI-generated tracks has Deezer kept out of its recommendations since 2025?

Deezer says it detected and excluded more than 42 million fully AI-generated tracks from its algorithmic and editorial recommendations between January 2025 and August 2026. It has also tagged more than 14 million albums as AI-generated since June 2025.
