Two different things share the name, and it is worth separating them. This page covers the public playlist scanner. Deezer also runs an internal detection system across its own catalogue, which is what produced the figures in my coverage of Deezer’s 50% AI upload share. Same claim, different jobs.

Pricing changes frequently, so verify current plans at Deezer. The tool costs nothing and is clearly built as an acquisition funnel toward a Deezer account, which is a reasonable trade for a free scan.
How does Deezer detect AI-generated music?
Deezer’s stated method is signal analysis rather than metadata or watermarking. Its page puts it plainly: “Generative software leaves specific artifacts in the audio signals of AI music. Deezer’s AI scanner flags them with over 99% accuracy.”

What the Deezer AI Music Detector does not tell you
The scanner answers one question well, and its shape rules out several others.
- It is built around playlists, so checking one unreleased file is not the job it does
- It returns a track-level flag rather than scoring vocals and instrumental separately, which is the case that matters on part-AI tracks
- It reads the finished recording, so it cannot see who wrote the lyrics, sang the topline, or spent 40 hours arranging it
- The accuracy figure is Deezer’s own, published without the test set, the false-positive rate, or whether hybrids were included
- Your library has to be reachable through Tune My Music for the scan to run
Deezer’s position in this category is unusual in that it both operates a streaming service and grades the music on it. That is a reason its detection volumes are worth reading, and a reason to treat its accuracy claim as a vendor claim.
