Wondershare’s AI music video app Enkio announced on November 5, 2026 that it now works inside ChatGPT and Codex through MCP. You attach your song and at least 1 photo, call up Enkio in the chat, and the assistant builds the music video in the same conversation.
One thing to know up front: the news comes from a press release, and part of it was already live. TechBullion walked through installing the Codex plugin on October 12, 24 days before the announcement.
Videos made this way come out of the same Enkio credits as the web app. The cheapest paid plan is $19.99 a month for 3,000 credits.
How Enkio MCP makes a music video inside ChatGPT and Codex
MCP is short for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets an AI assistant call outside tools. So ChatGPT stays your chat window, and Enkio does the video work in the background.
In ChatGPT, you find Enkio in the plugin directory, click Add and sign in to your Enkio account. Enkio’s MCP page says this takes a few seconds and needs no API keys. Then you type @Enkio or /Enkio in the message box and ask for the video.
In Codex, you open Plugins, pick Enkio and click Try Now, which starts a new conversation with the plugin switched on.
From there it’s one prompt and 2 kinds of files: a reference song and at least 1 reference image. The press release’s example asks for “a 9:16 cinematic video with a dreamy night atmosphere, neon reflections, and slow camera movement.”
The assistant then reads Enkio’s music video workflow, checks your files and your account, measures the song length, and generates a story, a cover, character designs, a storyboard and the final video. If one shot comes out wrong, you name it in the chat and ask for a reshoot.
So what exactly changed on November 5?
What is new in Enkio’s November 5 MCP announcement
The press release makes ChatGPT and Codex support official. But the Codex plugin was out before it: TechBullion’s October 12 walkthrough covered the Codex install, called it a Codex-first rollout, and noted that Enkio’s MCP page already described the ChatGPT route. The author flags the piece as one user’s personal experience.
The ChatGPT plugin listing shows what sits underneath. It’s version 1.0.1, it runs on one MCP server at enkio-mcp.ufotosoft.com, and it carries 6 skills: music video, image to video, text to video, first-and-last-frame video, reference-to-video and image generation. Only 1 of the 6 is built around a song.
Claude, Gemini and Cursor aren’t in the announcement. Enkio’s MCP page has a second tab labelled MCP next to the ChatGPT one, but when I opened the page on November 5, I could only get the ChatGPT steps to load. That’s a narrower start than Suno’s MCP server, which launched on October 28 for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude Code and Cursor.
What Enkio MCP costs, and what the music videos come out at
There’s no separate plugin balance. Every video made in ChatGPT or Codex draws from your normal Enkio credits, so the Enkio pricing page is the price list for the plugin too:
- The Starter plan costs $19.99 a month for 3,000 credits, 2 tasks at once, tasks saved for 7 days, and up to 10 music and 6 portrait assets.
- The Creator plan costs $39.99 a month for 7,000 credits, 4 tasks at once, tasks saved for 30 days, and up to 50 music and 20 portrait assets.
The pricing page doesn’t say how many credits one music video uses. Its FAQ says watermark-free downloads need an eligible paid plan or a credit package.
On output, Enkio’s FAQ lists 720p and 1080p in 9:16, 1:1, 3:4, 4:3 and 16:9. The homepage also advertises 2K for its Ultra Mode, and neither page says whether the MCP route can use it. Songs go in as MP3 or WAV, images as JPG or PNG, and Enkio’s FAQ says you need the rights to both.
One practical detail: the release says finished videos are saved locally. TechBullion adds that the remote link Codex may show you is temporary, so keep the local file.
Enkio MCP joins Suno, OpenStage and Viberate in music’s MCP wave
Enkio adds video to a list of music MCPs that grew fast in 2026:
- OpenStage connected artists’ fan data to Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini in June.
- Viberate opened its music data to AI assistants in July.
- Suno launched Suno MCP Beta on October 28, so assistants can make songs from a chat.
- Enkio made music videos from a chat official on November 5.
The Enkio web app already accepts Suno audio links, according to its FAQ. The MCP release doesn’t mention Suno, though, and I haven’t run a song from one plugin into the other yet. If you want to set up the song side first, my guide on how to use Suno MCP covers ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.
For the wider picture, my list of the best Claude connectors for musicians tracks which music apps plug into an assistant, and my roundup of AI music video generators compares the web tools on their output. Enkio hasn’t said which assistant gets its plugin next.
Frequently asked questions
Is Enkio a Wondershare product?
Yes, going by its own branding. Enkio's website shows the app as Wondershare Enkio, and its sign-in screen asks for a Wondershare ID. The November 5, 2026 press release lists Enkio Software as the media contact.
Does Enkio MCP work in Claude or Gemini?
Enkio's November 5, 2026 announcement names only ChatGPT and Codex. Its MCP page says the plugin connects compatible AI agents to Enkio's creation skills, but the only setup steps it shows are for ChatGPT.
Can Enkio make a music video from a Suno song?
The Enkio web app accepts MP3 and WAV uploads and also Suno audio links, according to its FAQ. You need the rights to the song you upload, and for a Suno track that depends on the Suno plan you made it on.
Can you download Enkio music videos without a watermark?
Enkio says watermark-free downloads come with eligible paid plans or credit packages. Its paid plans start at $19.99 a month for 3,000 credits, and the same credits pay for videos made through ChatGPT or Codex.
