Neural Frames passed a $7M annual run rate in October 2026. Founder and CEO Dr. Nicolai Klemke posted the number on LinkedIn on November 2, 2026, with 2 more facts: the run rate grew 50% over the last 3 months, and the Berlin company has no outside investors.
Bootstrapped means no venture capital. Neural Frames, the AI music video generator that syncs visuals to your track’s stems, grew on what artists pay for its monthly plans.
How Neural Frames’ annual run rate grew from under $3M to over $7M in 12 months
Klemke’s post was short: “We’re up 50% over the last 3 months alone, and have been well above $7M annual run rate in October. Incredible work of the neural frames team. 100% Bootstrapped & Indie”.
The chart under it tells the longer story. It starts in October 2025 under $3M, jumps past $4M in November, then climbs slowly to around $5M by spring. After a dip in June, the line turns steep in August and ends above $7M in October.
Read off the chart, that’s close to 3 times the run rate in 12 months. Klemke didn’t publish the monthly values, so those readings are approximate.
The last public number was $5M. Klemke’s SXSW London 2026 speaker bio said he had bootstrapped the company to a $5M run rate “profitably and without outside capital”, and InterSpace Music reported the same figure on June 4, 2026. So the step from $5M to more than $7M took about 4 months.
Neural Frames shipped steadily over that stretch, including Short-Form Studio for vertical clips in June. But Klemke’s post doesn’t tie the growth to any launch.
He has talked about the bootstrapped route before. At Hackatune 2026 at the Technical University of Munich in June, his talk was titled “How to Bootstrap an AI Music Video Generator”.
What is an annual run rate, and what does Neural Frames’ $7M figure measure?
An annual run rate takes your revenue from a short period and scales it up to a full year. The common version is one month’s revenue times 12.
Klemke didn’t say which period his figure is based on. If it’s the monthly version, “well above $7M” means Neural Frames brought in more than about $583,000 in October alone.
Two limits to keep in mind:
- A run rate projects one month forward. It doesn’t mean Neural Frames earned $7M over the past 12 months.
- The $7M figure comes from Klemke’s own post. I couldn’t find an outside source that confirms it.
Projecting one month forward is also why Klemke’s chart has dips. One weaker month pulls the whole annual figure down, which you can see in December, April and June.
The metric suits a subscription business like Neural Frames. Plans cost $39, $99 and $299 a month (my Neural Frames review breaks down what each tier gets you), and the homepage says the tool is “Trusted by 40,742+ Artists”.
If you want to see what those artists pay for, my Neural Frames tutorial walks through a full Autopilot video. And my AI music video generator roundup compares it with the alternatives.
Frequently asked questions
Who founded Neural Frames, and where is the company based?
Dr. Nicolai Klemke, a physicist by training, founded Neural Frames and still runs it as CEO. The company's About page dates its start to the end of 2022, after Klemke ran it alone for close to a year. Neural Frames is based in Berlin.
Has Neural Frames raised venture capital?
No, according to its founder. Nicolai Klemke called Neural Frames 100% bootstrapped and indie in his November 2, 2026 LinkedIn post, and his SXSW London 2026 speaker bio said he grew the company without outside capital.
Is Neural Frames profitable?
Nicolai Klemke's SXSW London 2026 speaker bio says he built Neural Frames to a $5M annual run rate profitably. That claim comes from the company itself, and Klemke's November 2026 post about the $7M run rate doesn't mention profit.
How many artists use Neural Frames?
The Neural Frames homepage says the tool is trusted by 40,742+ artists as of November 2026. In June 2026, InterSpace Music reported that more than 40,000 musicians had made over 2 million videos with it.
