The No. 1 song on US iTunes right now is a gospel song about grief, from an act that says it uses AI.

“Tell me, how is Heaven” by May the Lord Studio topped Apple’s US iTunes Top Songs chart when I checked on November 3, 2026. Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” was No. 2 and Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” No. 3. Showbiz411’s Roger Friedman flagged it the day before.

The song is a conversation with someone who has died. Its hook line: “I’m still learning how to lose you. You’re learning how to live.”

Is May the Lord Studio AI?

Partly, by its own account. The studio’s About page says it “combines human songwriting, biblical inspiration and modern creative technology.” Then: “Some voices, imagery and elements of production may be created or supported using artificial intelligence.”

It also says the studio “is not built around a single face or performer.” That fits the covers. Across its singles on Apple Music, the artwork shows several different singers.

The clearest disclosure is on YouTube. An October 27 video called “Tell me, how is Heaven (Live in concert)” says in its description: “This is an AI-generated concert visualization, not footage of an actual live performance.”

The places most listeners actually meet the song say nothing about AI, though. The official music video’s description is the lyrics plus a short summary. And the Apple Music page has no AI label.

Apple’s Made With AI labels only appear when the label or distributor tags the track, and Apple doesn’t run detection of its own for them.

What about the tool? Showbiz411 says the song was made on Suno. I couldn’t find the studio naming a tool on its website or in the YouTube descriptions I read, so that part rests on Showbiz411’s report.

How ‘Tell me, how is Heaven’ got to No. 1 on US iTunes

It took more than 3 months. The single and its official video both came out on July 25, 2026, and the video had 2,728,401 views when I checked on November 3.

The YouTube channel behind it only started on February 7, 2026. By November 3 it had 99.7K subscribers, about 30 videos and 24.66 million total views, nearly all of them official videos for gospel singles.

Keep in mind what iTunes measures. It ranks song purchases at $0.99 a track, not streams, and far fewer people buy downloads than stream these days. So a song doesn’t need streaming-scale numbers to reach No. 1, and Apple doesn’t publish the sales behind the chart.

The title is also catching on elsewhere. On Deezer, at least 2 other acts, SC Studio and Nyx Studio, released songs called “Tell Me How Is Heaven” in August and September.

Which other AI acts have topped the US iTunes chart in 2026?

May the Lord Studio isn’t the first this year. IngaRose’s “Celebrate Me,” the song Bette Midler called cultural genocide, went to No. 1 on US iTunes on April 17, 2026.

In October, Showbiz411 counted 5 AI tracks in the US iTunes Top 20 on a single day, led by Imael Angel’s “Bad Times” at No. 6. And the AI country act River Cain has 5 singles on the iTunes chart behind a persona he discloses.

What’s different this time is the genre. It’s a gospel song about grief, and the AI disclosure sits on the studio’s website, not on the store page.

If you release AI-assisted music yourself, labeling is moving to the platforms. Apple’s label flags the track and starts with what you and your distributor declare at upload. Spotify’s AI Persona badge flags the artist, and Spotify says it won’t rely on self-disclosure alone.

Frequently asked questions

Is May the Lord Studio an AI music act?

By its own description, partly. May the Lord Studio's About page says it combines human songwriting with modern creative technology, and that some voices, imagery and elements of production may be created or supported using artificial intelligence. It doesn't say which tracks or which tools.

When was 'Tell me, how is Heaven' by May the Lord Studio released?

The single and its official YouTube video both came out on July 25, 2026. The song reached No. 1 on the US iTunes Top Songs chart in early November 2026, more than 3 months after release.

Does Apple Music label 'Tell me, how is Heaven' as made with AI?

No. When I checked the Apple Music single page on November 3, 2026, it showed no AI label. Apple's Made With AI labels depend on labels and distributors tagging their own tracks.

Was 'Tell me, how is Heaven' made with Suno?

Showbiz411 reported on November 2, 2026 that the song was made on Suno. May the Lord Studio's About page and YouTube descriptions don't name the AI tools it uses, so the Suno claim rests on that report.
