Major labels are releasing AI music now, and a Warner artist held the AI No.1 for 14 weeks

A Warner Music release held the No.1 spot on the world’s AI music chart for 14 consecutive weeks this year. Two mainstream rappers charted behind it. All 3 landed inside a single reporting period, according to the Sonic Intelligence Academy’s Mid-Year 2026 report.

Six months ago the industry’s public position was that AI music was something happening to it. That position is now hard to hold.

The 3 industry acts that charted in one reporting period

The Second Voice debuted at No.1 with “Let Me Be” and never moved off the top. SIQA calls it the first major-label-affiliated AI artist to reach No.1 in its verified chart history.

Tyga charted in the same window, peaking at No.8 with 3 weeks inside the top 10. He had already confirmed to VIBE that he used Suno on $TARFACE.

Fenix Flexin charted with “RUBBERZ”, the single that reached No.58 on the Billboard Hot 100 before he acknowledged in August that an AI model made it.

Compare that against Q1, when the only industry names on the chart were 2 Grammy-recognised artists sitting at No.76 and No.88. The pace of arrival is the story here, more than any single act.

The mid-year period is the moment AI music stopped being a category the industry was watching and became one it was participating in.

Warner backed AI chart restrictions while a Warner release led the AI chart

In July 2026, 11 major music companies proposed AI chart eligibility rules that would exclude most of what SIQA charts. Warner is among them.

During the same months, a Warner-affiliated release owned the top of that chart.

I don’t read this as hypocrisy so much as an unresolved position. A major label can want tighter eligibility on the charts it has always competed on, and still release AI music into a chart built for it. Those two things only collide once somebody has to decide which chart the release belongs to, and mid-year 2026 is the period where that decision stopped being theoretical.

Where the classification on these records stops agreeing

SIQA files all 3 acts as AI-Assisted. That tier is declared by the creator who submits the track.

My own Artist Index entry files “RUBBERZ” as fully AI-generated, based on Treblo’s own classifier returning a “Very likely Treblo” verdict and Fenix acknowledging the platform on August 7.

Both records can be accurate at once, because they measure different things. One records what the artist said. The other records what a detector found. A Hot 100 single now sits on both sides of that gap, which is exactly the problem SIQA’s new Verified Registry launched to address: register the claim at the source rather than guessing after release.

One inconsistency worth flagging in the report itself. SIQA’s summary page credits The Second Voice with 14 straight weeks at No.1, while the chart durability table inside the report lists the same act at 5 weeks in the top 10. I’m going with 14, because it matches my own week-by-week chart coverage through the period.

For anyone working in A&R, publishing or label operations, the practical questions have moved. Not whether to engage, but who gets credited on an AI-assisted release, what the split sheet says when the vocal is generated, and which chart the record is eligible for once the rules your own company proposed come into force.
