SUNO Studio logo announces upcoming launch with an open waitlist.

Key Highlights:

  • Suno has started a waitlist for its new Studio, moving into the professional music software space after buying WavTool.
  • The new Studio lets users create music track by track, export MIDI files, and work easily with other DAWs.
  • This puts Suno in direct competition with well-known music production programs used by professionals.

Suno, known for its AI music tools, is now letting people sign up for early access to Suno Studio. This is a web-based music workstation that uses technology from WavTool, a company Suno bought in June 2025. With Studio, users can build songs one part at a time, export their work as MIDI files, and connect with other music software. This is Suno’s biggest step so far toward making tools for serious music producers.

When Suno bought WavTool, it brought in both the team and the technology behind the browser-based DAW. “We’re finding that many of Suno’s early adopters are professional songwriters and producers,” said Mikey Shulman, Suno’s CEO. Now, WavTool’s co-founder, Sam Watkinson, is leading product development at Suno, working to combine AI music creation with editing tools that professionals need.

Suno Studio likely targets a portion of the $1.2 billion market for digital audio workstations, positioning itself as a complementary tool that “integrates with any DAW” rather than directly challenging established programs like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Cubase. Studio builds on Suno’s earlier editing features, like splitting songs into separate tracks and better audio uploads, but focuses on AI-powered music creation that can then be refined further in traditional DAWs.
