  • Developers get 50 percent off API in August
  • Veed’s AI music generator and AMP add ElevenLabs music

ElevenLabs made its biggest music announcement yet. The company launched the Eleven Music API. This is the first music tool for developers built on licensed music and approved for commercial use. Developers can add AI music creation to their apps and tools. You type a prompt and get a song in seconds.

ElevenLabs signed licensing deals with Merlin and Kobalt. These deals give rights from big music labels and publishers. Michele Arnese, Founder and Global CEO of AMP, said this will speed up their audio platform for brands, agencies, and creators. The API lets you pick track length, structure, and even vocals in different languages and styles.

Content platforms want this technology fast. Video tools, social media, and games use it for instant, royalty-free background music. Veed integrated the Eleven Music API into their content creation platform. The integration lets creators generate original music directly within their video editing workflow. This eliminates the need to source separate music tracks for more engaging videos.

This API release follows ElevenLabs’ recent launch of ElevenMusic. Their direct-to-consumer music generation platform also transforms how filmmakers approach scoring. For indie filmmakers looking to leverage this technology, I wrote a detailed guide on using ElevenMusic for film scoring to cut costs by up to 60%.
