Imagine you’re a musician working on a new song. You want to make it sound great, but some parts of the process can feel slow or frustrating.

SoundCloud, a platform where artists share their music, just announced partnerships with three AI tools: Fadr, Soundful, and Voice-Swap.

These tools are here to help artists create and share music more easily.

SoundCloud has always been a place for artists to try new things and share their work. Over the years, they’ve worked with tools like GarageBand and FL Studio to make it easier for musicians to upload their songs. Now, they’re adding three new tools to help artists even more.”

As someone who’s been playing guitar for 20 years, I’ve always loved writing songs, but some parts of recording can feel like a chore. Doubling vocal tracks, layering guitar parts, or fixing mixes can take a lot of time. For many artists, these steps can slow down the process of sharing their music with the world.”

AI is becoming a big part of music, but it’s also raised some concerns. Some companies, like Suno and Udio, have used AI to copy music without asking, which can hurt artists. In fact, the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) has filed lawsuits against these companies for using copyrighted music to train their AI models without permission. Recently, Suno released its v4 update, which improves its music generation capabilities, but the legal and ethical questions around its use of artists’ work remain.

SoundCloud’s new partnerships are different.

They’re working with tools that help artists while making sure they’re treated fairly.

Here’s how these tools 3 AI music tools work:

Tool 1 – Soundful – AI music generator

On Soundful you can choose between different rock genres to generate a track.

Soundful lets you create music quickly. It’s good for testing ideas or making beats and synth layers to build on. While it’s useful for prototyping, it can’t compete on quality when it comes to full music output compared to tools like Suno or Udio. However, it’s worth noting that Suno and Udio are facing lawsuits and don’t compensate artists for using their work to train their AI models.

Tool 2 – Fadr – Make remixes of your favourite songs

Fadr helps you remix songs. You can upload a track and make new versions. This could be fun for working with other artists or even letting fans remix your music.

Tool 3 – Voice Swap: Voice cloning & vocal changer

Below it, instructions for uploading 20 to 40 minutes of singing at 44.1kHz 16bit are provided. There’s a text field labeled "My Voice" and a section prompting users to drag and drop or click to upload audio files.

Voice-Swap lets you use AI to change vocals. You can clone your own voice or use licensed artist voices. It works with programs like FL Studio or Ableton, making it easy to add harmonies or guest vocals.

Each tool has an ‘Upload to SoundCloud’ button, so you can share your music directly. Fadr’s remix feature might be the most useful for direct uploads, especially if you want fans to remix your tracks. Soundful and Voice-Swap are more for helping you create music before you upload it.

These tools give artists new ways to make and share music. At the same time, SoundCloud is blocking AI bots from copying music on their site. This helps protect artists and lets them focus on creating.

The big idea? AI can be a helpful tool for artists if it’s used the right way. SoundCloud’s partnerships with Fadr, Soundful, and Voice-Swap show how technology can support creativity without replacing artists.”

Ready to try these tools? Look for the ‘Upload to SoundCloud’ feature in Fadr, Soundful, and Voice-Swap—and start sharing your music today.
