Two of those names deserve a second look for anyone who has ever had a payout go missing. Resolut is built for withheld earnings, the royalties a society or distributor sits on because two parties claim the same song. lyrcs.ai targets regional and localized repertoire, which is exactly where transcription systems trained on English-language catalogs fall over.

What an infrastructure-heavy field says about where music tech money is going

The competition opened this year to founders at the earliest stage, including people with an idea and a deck and nothing built. That change was the story when applications opened in July, and the field it produced is the answer to it. Given a blank slate and no requirement to have a product, 6 of the 10 chose to build plumbing.

That is worth noticing because the pitch decks that get funded shape what tools exist for artists in two years. A cohort betting on royalty recovery, metadata repair and catalog data is a cohort that has decided the money in music tech sits in fixing what is broken behind the scenes, not in another app for fans.
