Police shut down Room Service, the showcase that Monetunes and Cryo Mix co-hosted at Room Mate Aitana in Amsterdam during Amsterdam Dance Event week, at 21:30 on Thursday, October 22, 2026, according to Monetunes. That’s 2 and a half hours before the midnight finish on the flyer.
It was the last of several changes that night. Monetunes says that 4 hours before doors, it was told it could no longer use its suite at the hotel and was moved downstairs into a space shared with another label, which cut its artists’ 25-minute showcase sets to 15 minutes.
Monetunes told the story in an Instagram post it published together with Cryo Mix, and Adi Ranganathan of Cryo Mix wrote about the night in a LinkedIn post. Room Mate Aitana and ADE have not publicly commented.
What Monetunes says happened at Room Mate Aitana during ADE 2026
Monetunes laid out the night across a set of slides, under a caption that opens: “we owe you an explanation.”
The venue change came first. Then, Monetunes says, it was told it couldn’t display any Monetunes branding in the room, and its 6 boxes of event signage, QR codes and lineup boards were nowhere to be found. Tracking showed the boxes had been delivered 14 days earlier, and the hotel insisted it had never received them.
As its team was leaving, Monetunes says it spotted some of that same signage “duct-taped around equipment boxes, being used as packaging material.” Without it, “some guests couldn’t even tell they were at a Monetunes event.”
The open bar had been agreed and paid for in advance, according to Monetunes, but some guests were still charged for drinks during the event. And mid-performance, Monetunes says the owner of the other label sharing the room approached one of its artists on stage and said: “End your set. Your music sucks.”
Then, at 21:30, the police shut it down. Monetunes says it had been expecting a midnight finish.
The Room Service lineup at Room Mate Aitana
The flyer billed Room Service as a free-RSVP night with an open bar and limited access, running from 6PM to midnight. It listed 16 acts, from Adam Papanek and Amos & Riot Night to Toxic Wraith and Whispersinyahead.
In the run-up, Monetunes introduced the acts one by one on Instagram with “checking in” cards, styled as hotel guests. After the shutdown, Toxic Wraith commented under the Monetunes post: “Thank you team for the hard work and shame on the venue!”
What Cryo Mix’s Adi Ranganathan wrote about the night on LinkedIn
Adi Ranganathan’s LinkedIn post from October 26 opens on the ending: “My first ADE ended with the police shutting down our party at Hotel Aitana. Honestly, I could not have asked for a crazier welcome to Amsterdam.”
He writes that “the venue literally did not know what to do with us,” and that the night was cut off halfway through. “Hate that our artists had their sets cut short, but proud of the Monetunes crew for holding the line and turning a chaotic situation into one of the most talked-about nights of the week.”
Room Mate Aitana and ADE have not commented on the Room Service shutdown
Monetunes says the hotel told it that “complaints from ADE were behind the changes and restrictions,” and that it still hasn’t received an official explanation.
We need clear answers about how an event we had spent months preparing could change so drastically just 4 hours before doors opened.
Room Mate Aitana and Amsterdam Dance Event have not publicly commented on the night.
Who Monetunes and Cryo Mix are, and what Cryo Mix pitched at ADE 2026
Monetunes helps artists and labels recover black box royalties, which is money that collection societies hold because they couldn’t match it to a rights holder. Its website says it scans 200+ collection societies and charges no subscription and no upfront fee.
Cryo Mix is a browser-based AI mixing and mastering studio. You upload up to 32 stems, and its Nova assistant mixes and masters them while explaining each move in chat (I walked through the workflow in my Nova test). Paid plans start at $19 a month on Cryo Mix’s site.
Adi spent the week pitching exactly that. His post says his main message to A&Rs, publishers and managers was that “one-click stereo mastering is no longer enough,” and that at Cryo Mix “we start at the stem level and build up.”
