Treblo built a detector that says Fenix Flexin's Billboard hit 'Rubberz' came from its own AI model

The AI company at the centre of the Fenix Flexin accusations has stopped staying quiet about it. Treblo released a detection tool over the weekend that checks whether a track came from its own model, and run on the rapper’s Billboard hit “Rubberz”, it returns a verdict of very likely Treblo.

Fenix Flexin still says he recorded it himself.

What Treblo’s own detector says about ‘Rubberz’

The tool is called “Was This Made With Treblo?” and sits at treblo.com/detect. Treblo says it carries a microscopic likelihood of false positives, which is the sort of claim only the company that trained the generator can make about its own outputs.

Treblo co-founder Ryan Tremblay is not treating any of this as a problem.

Someone appears to have used our model to find a sound that millions of people connected with, and that's exciting.

That is the AI company saying a charting record is probably its output, and saying it as marketing.

How Fenix Flexin has answered the accusations

The rapper has denied the allegations flatly. “No sirrrrrrr, recorded same as all music I do!” he responded to one critic. “Only difference is auto-tune, reverb, and me using my fake UK accent lol.”

After producer Medasin posted a breakdown of the track, Fenix shared a video of himself moving through a Pro Tools project with the song’s parts isolated as stems. Medasin and others pointed out that dropping an AI song into a stem splitter produces exactly that view. Fenix deleted the video shortly afterwards.

His original defence, made alongside producer Purpz on the Beat in a video interview, was reasonable on its face: as Music Ally noted, a huge number of DAW tools use AI, so almost any modern record touches it somewhere.

The same producer flagged Tyga’s album 4 days earlier

Medasin did not stop at “Rubberz”. On August 1 he ran “AFFECTION”, a single from Tyga’s $TARFACE album, through a detection model built by Human Standard and tagged both Tyga and distributor EMPIRE in the post. The verdict came back likely AI, generated with Treblo.

EMPIRE sits behind both projects. Neither Tyga nor EMPIRE has responded.

One detector score on a heavily processed 80s synth record proves little on its own, and that caveat still applies to Tyga. What changed this week is that the software named in both flags now has a confirmed case attached to it.

Why ‘Rubberz’ lands badly for the new chart rules

The timing is the awkward part. A consortium of industry organisations laid out specific rules for AI chart eligibility on August 2, days before Treblo’s tool put a number on a song already sitting at 58 on the Hot 100.
