  • Fake AI song appeared on Architects’ Spotify December 3
  • Fans spotted the fake through bad artwork and vocals
  • Happened after Spotify announced AI protections in September

British metalcore band Architects found an unauthorized AI-generated track on their official Spotify profile on December 3, 2025. The song “Ashes of the Kingdom” had robotic guitars, artificial vocals, and AI-generated artwork showing four figures in burning ruins. Fans on Reddit spotted the obvious fake right away. Spotify removed the track quickly.

YouTuber Ohrion Reacts said during a livestream, “I can’t listen to any more of this, this is a fucking disgrace.” Viewers had alerted him to the track. The song sounded nothing like Architects’ signature sound or Sam Carter’s distinctive vocals. Instead, the track sounded like “”a computer thinks modern metalcore sounds like.”

This breach shows growing concerns about AI music infiltration. The Velvet Sundown investigation revealed 13 AI artists racking up millions of streams. Music Business Worldwide exposed systematic playlist manipulation by fake AI releases. The incident shows how easily unauthorized content bypasses distributor checks and appears on verified artist profiles.

The breach happened after Spotify’s AI protections announcement in September 2025. This raises questions about how well Spotify enforces these protections.
