The Spanish music industry's main international event, and the most useful bridge on the calendar between the Spanish-speaking market and everyone else.

• Bilbao each autumn, at the Euskalduna Palace.
• A second life in Colombia as BIME Bogotá.
• BIME Pro is the professional conference — panels, meetings, the industry programme.
• BIME Live is the festival that runs alongside it. A professional pass is aimed at Pro.

The brand covers two events that are not interchangeable.

• BIME Bilbao runs 27-29 October 2026, three days at the Euskalduna Palace. The flagship and the larger of the two, drawing the European and Spanish industry.
• BIME Bogotá runs 4-6 May 2027, three days in Colombia. Different programme, different speakers, and a Latin American network you will not meet in Bilbao.
• Check the dates before booking flights. BIME’s homepage banner advertises 27-30 October, but the day passes on sale are dated 27, 28 and 29, and the full pass is described as covering three days. Three days is what you are buying.

If your interest is Latin music specifically, Bogotá is the more direct route and a smaller, more navigable event. If you want the Spanish market plus the wider European industry in one trip, Bilbao is the one.

Three options, and the pricing has an odd shape worth knowing before you click.

• Every tier includes the same substance: BIME Pro talks, priority access to BIME Live showcases, the networking platform, in-person workshops and the exhibition area. The full and day passes add speed meetings and cocktails.
• The day pass is the one to avoid. At €129 it costs 81% of the full pass for a third of the event.
• If you are a student or under 28, €79.50 for three days makes this the cheapest serious industry conference in Europe.

Book it if you are:

• A label, publisher or manager with exposure to Spanish-language repertoire. This is where those relationships get made, and there is no equivalent at the English-language conferences.
• An artist building a European touring base, particularly towards Spanish-language markets. The open call is the route onto BIME Live, though for 2026 that window has closed.
• A service provider targeting Spain, Portugal or Latin America. BIME is small enough that being present registers, which is not true at SXSW.

Yes — directly, and you will have to choose.

• BIME Bilbao 2026 runs 27-29 October.
• Music Tectonics runs 27-29 October in Santa Monica. The same three days, opposite sides of the Atlantic.
• They serve different purposes — BIME is market access, Music Tectonics is music technology and investment — so the choice usually makes itself once you are honest about which network you need.

I cannot answer this properly yet, and I would rather say so than guess.

• BIME had published its format and ticket tiers for 2026 but not a session-level programme when this was assessed.
• The pass description confirms BIME Pro talks, workshops and speed meetings — but no titles, no speakers, no track names. Nothing to count.
• What I can say is structural: BIME Pro programmes industry and technology talks every year, and the AI argument in the Spanish-language market is running at least as hot as in English, with its own collecting societies and licensing fights.
• This is the weakest AI assessment in the directory and it is marked as such rather than dressed up. It will be redone once the talks programme publishes.
