Madverse relaunched as version 2.0, and the headline change is money: both its plans now pay artists 100% of their royalties. The Indian distribution, publishing and marketing company rolled out the revamp on July 1, 2026, pitching Madverse as one place for independent artists and labels to release, manage, promote, and monetise their music.

What changed in Madverse v2.0

The old split kept a cut: Creator subscribers took home 85%, Professional 95%. Version 2.0 moves both to 100%.

Pricing stays tiered. The Creator plan runs Rs299 per month, with the first month at Rs99, for artists just starting out. The Professional plan is Rs3,999 per year, aimed at solo pros and labels running multiple acts. Professional also adds “release protection,” which keeps songs live even if an artist or label lapses on the platform.

Why Madverse’s timing matters

The relaunch comes less than a month after Madverse closed its first institutional funding round, led by Ahdritz Capital. That is the fund of Willard Ahdritz, who founded Kobalt and built it into one of the biggest independent publishing and rights companies in the world.

Fresh capital, then a pricing move that hands margin back to artists. It reads like a growth play: give up the royalty cut now to win catalog and subscriptions.

What Madverse v2.0 means for independent artists

A 100% royalty split is becoming the price of entry among distributors fighting for indie catalog. The differentiator Madverse is betting on is the bundle: distribution, publishing, and marketing in one stack instead of four tools stitched together.

For artists in India especially, that all-in-one pitch is the draw. The number to watch is the subscription itself, since the platform now makes its money from the fee, not a slice of your streams.
