- Hook secured $10 million in Series A funding led by Khosla Ventures, bringing total funding to $16 million.

- Active users grew 45 times over the past 12 months.
Licensed Remixing Attracts Major Venture Capital Backing
The music industry’s shift from passive to active listening now has serious financial backing. Hook, the AI-powered remix app, closed a $10 million Series A round on February 18, 2026.
Khosla Ventures led the round. Existing investors Point72 Ventures, Imaginary Ventures, and Waverley Capital participated. The raise follows Hook’s seed funding of $3 million in 2024.
Hook campaigns have generated over 250 million views across social platforms since launch.
Khosla Partner Highlights Rights Infrastructure Value
The platform lets users create remixes and share them to TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and SoundCloud. Rights holders maintain ownership and earn revenue from each creation.
“Hook is solving a hard problem at the center of modern music: enabling remixing and social distribution in a way that works for rights holders at scale,” said Samir Kaul, Khosla Ventures’ Founding Partner and Managing Director.
The Downtown Music partnership and Universal Music Group deal give Hook access to millions of tracks. This fair AI licensing approach contrasts with unlicensed AI platforms facing copyright lawsuits.
Your Catalog Could Generate New Revenue Streams
Hook’s model mirrors YouTube’s Content ID evolution. Labels once issued takedowns for fan uploads. Now they monetize them.
You should ensure your metadata is accurate to capture royalties from licensed derivative tools. Independent artists distributing stems to platforms like Hook gain a new path to viral growth and superfan premium content engagement.
