That jobseeker pass is worth pausing on. No other event in this directory has a formal partnership with a national employment agency, and a conference that treats access as a labour-market question rather than a revenue question is doing something genuinely unusual.

The City of Cannes, in partnership with the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès and Live Nation. That is a change from the trade-show operator that ran MIDEM for most of its history, and it explains the event's shift towards a city-backed festival-and-conference format.
Tickets are open to anyone, but the conference content is aimed at music industry professionals and students. The MIDEM Live concerts and showcases run on separate public ticketing, so the two audiences are handled differently.

It sits on the Croisette in the centre of town. The train station is a ten-minute walk, the bus stop two minutes, and Nice Côte d'Azur airport is 27km away. MIDEM runs no shuttle service and asks attendees to use public transport.
